It will investigate tables and chairs from those countries following a petition filed by Xuan Hoa Viet Nam Joint Stock Company and Hoa Phat Furniture Joint Stock Company.

Its Trade Remedies Authority said there is clear evidence that dumped imports have caused significant damage to domestic industry.

It will send a questionnaire to affected local to elaborate on their allegations of dumping.

The investigation period for determining dumping behavior is from July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2021. The period for identifying damage starts on July 1, 2018.

The domestic industry has sought anti-dumping duties at the rate of 35.2 percent and 21.4 percent respectively for certain Chinese tables and chairs, and 32.4 percent and 24.9 percent for certain Malaysian tables and chairs.

The department has called on all businesses and individuals involved in trading, distributing and importing and exporting related products to provide requisite information to the authorities to protect their rights and interests.
