Shares lose ground on large-caps

Vietnamese continued to fall on Tuesday morning due to the decline of heavy-weight stocks.

 

The benchmark VN-Index on the Hồ Chí Minh Stock Exchange was down 0.25 per cent to close at 1,295.58 points.

More than 459 million shares were traded on the southern bourse, worth VNĐ15 trillion (US$658 million).

Market breadth was positive with 106 gaining stocks and 266 losers.

Losses of some big stocks like Viet Nam National Petroleum Group (PLX), Vincom Retail JSC (VRE) and Vietnam Rubber Group JSC (VRG) weighed on the market.

On the Hà Nội Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index lost 0.82 per cent to end Tuesday morning at 332.11 points.

More than 107 million shares were traded on the northern market, worth VNĐ2.7 trillion.
