Industry promotion funding helps enterprises apply machinery, equipment and technology in production

Automating production

According to the Dong Nai Province Department of Industry and Trade, the most prominent industry promotion program in the 2016-2020 period was the application of advanced machinery and equipment in industrial and craft production by local enterprises and rural industrial establishments.

Over the past five years, 36 rural industrial establishments in the province have benefited from industry promotion funding totaling VND54.7 billion. Director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade Truong Thi My Dung said, “Advanced machinery and equipment application contributes to automating production to replace manual labor, reducing risks of toxicity to workers, increasing productivity and product quality.”

Meanwhile in Binh Duong Province, the funding for local industry promotion programs increased from VND300 million-VND1 billion in the 2009-2016 period to over VND3 billion per year since 2017. Reciprocal capital resources from local enterprises and rural industrial establishments also reached around VND20 billion a year, an encouraging figure reflecting the effectiveness of Binh Duong industry promotion programs after many years of implementation.

In Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, the provincial industry and trade sector focused its attention on support for vocational training and international cooperation. Accordingly, the provincial Department of Industry and Trade cooperated with the Sanjo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) in Japan to organize training courses in both localities for more than 80 civil servants and public employees to improve their capacity to formulate industrial development policies.

Improving quality and efficiency

In the 2021-2025 period, Dong Nai estimates total funding for the industrial promotion programs at about VND71 billion, including local funding of more than VND41 billion, VND28 billion raised from rural industrial establishments, and the rest funded by other sources. The province will provide support in site clearance, infrastructure embellishment and environmental protection for industrial clusters that have occupancy rates of over 50 percent.

Binh Duong Province also aims to support more than 75 rural industrial establishments in advanced machinery and equipment, scientific and technical applications and technology transfers for production. It will also help build at least two technical demonstration models to popularize new products and technologies.

In order to achieve the dual goals of both effective pandemic prevention and control, while also focusing on economic recovery and development, ensuring social security and sustainable development, the government has adopted effective solutions to ease difficulties in production, business activities of various types of enterprises, including rural industrial establishments.
