VN-Index gains nearly 8 points on bank and real estate stocks

The market continued its rally on Friday morning, and was on course for a fifth consecutive gaining session.

 

On the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE), the VN-Index increased 0.65 per cent, equivalent to 7.94 points, to 1,224.04 points. The market breadth was still positive as 266 stocks climbed while 155 stocks declined.

The market's liquidity was also high as local investors poured over VND14.7 trillion into the market, equivalent to a trading amount of over 609.9 million shares.

The 30 large-cap tracker VN30-Index posted a gain of 0.98 per cent to 1,238.12 points. Of the 30 biggest stocks in market capitalisation, 25 rose while three stocks slid and two stayed unchanged.

The market's trend still gained most support from banking, real estate and construction stocks.

Vinhomes JSC (VHM) was the biggest gainer in market capitalisation this morning, up 1.82 per cent.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange (HNX), the HNX-Index climbed 0.57 per cent to 294.06 points as the HNX30-Index, tracking the 30 biggest stocks in the northern market, posted a gain of 1.85 per cent to 444.35 points.

The positive performance of the market has attracted foreign inflows as foreign investors kept buying in this morning with a net value of VND674.93 billion on both exchanges.
