Shares rise on large-cap stocks

The market rose on Wednesday morning on blue-chip stocks with the real estate sector continuing to lead the market's trend.

 

On the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE), the VN-Index climbed 0.31 per cent to 1,190.06 points despite a negative market breadth. Of which, 199 stocks increased while 220 stocks slid.

The market's liquidity was higher than yesterday morning with a trading volume of over 543.74 million shares, worth nearly VND11.11 trillion.

The VN30-Index, which tracks the 30 biggest stocks in market capitalisation, rose 0.56 per cent to 1,197.56 points. Of the VN30 basket, 18 stocks edged up while 10 stocks declined.

Stocks from the real estate and construction sectors continued to lead the market's trend as Vingroup JSC (VIC) posted the biggest gain in market capitalisation this morning, up 1.37 per cent. Followed by Vinhomes JSC (VHM), up 1.56 per cent.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange (HNX), the HNX-Index increased 1.18 per cent to 284.46 points thanks to pillar stocks as the market's breadth was negative. The HNX30-Index climbed by 0.47 per cent to 417.42 points.
