The announcement was made last week, which outlined the plans that will see Hexagon Peak join forces with NWIT, a fully-owned subsidiary of Foxconn Group. The new system for the pair is to be located at New Wing’s manufacturing facility near Hanoi.
The solar rooftop system is part of the efforts of NWIT to reduce its CO2 footprint and transition into sustainable and green manufacturing, at a time when Vietnam is attempting to catapult ahead in the rooftop solar arena on the back of recent related successes.
Hoang Van Thuy, vice director of NWIT said, “We have had a presence in Vietnam since 2007 and have always aimed to create a professional, clean, and green working environment for all of our employees. The goal of our company is to only use clean energy in the future, therefore we are co-operating with Hexagon Peak to build the largest rooftop solar system in Vietnam.”
The system will not only help prevent over 5,600 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year, but it will also generate electricity sufficient to cover 25 per cent of NWIT’s manufacturing operations.
Dat Le, managing director of Hexagon Peak Vietnam, commented, “We are so thrilled to be selected as a solar partner of NWIT. At present, we are teaming up with machinery and equipment provider INPOS Ltd. for this project, and we are also excited to apply the highest industry standards in safety and reliability in the system.”
Dzung Nguyen, vice director of INPOS added, “Rooftop solar power is becoming more popular in Vietnam, contributing to the economic and environmental development of our country, and INPOS is doing its part to make our dream of leaving the world better than we found it come true.”
Hexagon Holdings is an early-stage platform under the brand name Hexagon Peak, established in February 2019 as a group holding company, headquartered in Singapore. Its core business activities focus on project development and long-term ownership of commercial and industrial solar rooftop systems – both ground-mounted and floating – as well as trade with renewable energy attributes.
A hexagon is the most efficient, least wasteful shape found in nature.
The compressive characteristics of the shape allow it to be one of the strongest structures in the world – no other shape can create more space with less material.
