Reference exchange rate down 10 VND on May 29

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,261 VND per USD on May 29, down 10 VND from the previous day.

With the current trading band of +/-3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,959 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,563 VND/USD.

The opening hour rates at commercial banks all saw decreases.

At 8:25 am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 23,180 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,390 VND/USD, both down 20 VND from May 28.

At BIDV, both rates were adjusted down 25 VND to 23,205 VND/USD (buying), and 23,385 VND/USD (selling).

Techcombank also adjusted both rates down 20 VND to 23,190 VND/USD (buying), and 23,390 VND/USD (selling).

During the week from May 25 to 29, the daily reference exchange rate fluctuated variably and ended the week up 1 VND from Monday.

The rates at commercial banks also fluctuated, mostly ending the week lower than at the week’s beginning.
