Reference exchange rate up 9 VND on April 16

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,236 VND per USD on April 16, up 9 VND from the previous day.

With the current trading band of +/-3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,931 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,539 VND/USD.

The opening hour rates at commercial banks saw strong drops.

At 8:25 am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 23,320 VND/USD, and the selling rate at 23,530 VND/USD, both down 15 VND from April 15.

BIDV also cut 15 VND from both rates, listing the buying rate at 23,350 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,530 VND/USD.

At Techcombank, both the rates went down by 40 VND to 23,325 VND/USD (buying), and 23,525 VND/USD (selling).
