High-quality products fair opens in HCM City

The annual Vietnamese High-Quality Products Fair opens on Friday at the Phu Tho Stadium in HCM City’s District 11.

It will have more than 500 booths set up by over 200 local enterprises and nearly 100 outstanding start-ups to introduce new products and technologies.

The fair organisers will run programmes on helping businesses penetrate the world market and offer consultancy on how to enhance official exports to China and capitalise on the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) opportunities and optimal ways to distribute Vietnamese products online.

The Vietnamese High Quality Product Business Association, the fair organiser, has collaborated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to organise a "Vietnamese Spice Quintessence Week" programme to introduce 300 spices from various parts of the country and more than 50 types of spice-based essential oils.

The programme aims to showcase high-value agricultural products and spices with good commercial prospects to promote their consumption in the city, Vu Kim Hanh, chairwoman of the association, said.

Visitors can discover traditional fish sauces produced by famous companies such as Khai Hoan, Thanh Quoc, Quoc Vi, Hoa Hiep, 584 Nha Trang, Hong Hanh, Le Gia, Thuan Hung, and Phan Thiet at the fair.

Every day of the fair, organisers will invite cuisine, spices and fish sauce experts to organise contests and share their experiences, knowledge of selecting spices and ways to make dipping sauces using fish sauce and salt for various dishes.

This year there will also be a seminar on exploring markets for spices and traditional fish sauces, cooking contests, how to make many specialty dishes, and others.

At the opening ceremony tonight the association will announce the “Vietnamese High Quality Products-Global Integration Standards” for the non-food sector it joined hands with other entities to develop.

It will also grant the Vietnamese High Quality Products-Global Integration Standards to 12 firms in the sector.

The fair will go on until May 1.
