Finance ministry further simplifies administrative procedures

The Ministry of Finance recently removed or simplified a total of 176 out of 978 administrative procedures under its management.

A total 148 administrative procedures were removed while 28 were simplified in 13 sectors, including tax, customs, State treasury, securites, insurance and public assets.

Now, there are 839 administrative procedures under the ministry’s management, including 291 tax procedures, 178 customs procedures, 148 securities procedures, 12 State treasury procedures and 210 procedures in other sectors.

The finance ministry will continue to review and simplify administrative procedures and manage new procedures.

The ministry also aims to use more information technology in handling administrative procedures and the single-window system.

Simplifying administrative procedures helps create favourable conditions for citizens and businesses, improve the business climate, enhance the national competitiveness and promote development.

From 2016 to October 2, 2018, the Ministry of Finance removed 174 administrative procedures and simplified 888 others.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc late last month signed a directive about improving administrative procedure handling at ministries and localities.

The move put the focus on creating convenience for citizens and firms when conducting administrative procedures, developing easy-to-use online public services and launching the national public services portal before November 1, 2019.
