International textile-garment and footwear expo fiesta
A series of international expos will showcase the latest technologies and equipment for textile, garment, and footwear to promote Vietnam’s key export industries.
The 18th edition of Vietnam International Textile & Garment Industry Exhibition (VTG) will take place at the same time as Vietnam International Textile & Apparel Accessories Exhibition (VitaTex) on November 21-24 at Saigon Exhibition & Convention Centre (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Vietnam International Footwear Machinery & Material Industry Exhibition (VFM), and the eighth Asia International Dye, Pigments, and Textile Chemicals Exhibition (INTERDYE ASIA 2018) will also be held concurrently.
According to the organiser, the Vietnamese textile and garment industry had an outstanding first half this year, as the production and export turnover of the industry ranked among the world’s top five. The export turnover of textile and garment reached $19.4 billion in the first eight months, up 15 per cent against 2017.
Meanwhile, Vietnam is home to some 700 footwear makers with about 1.5 million labourers. The country’s footwear exports have enjoyed robust growth, reaching $13 billion in six years from $6.5 billion in 2011. The figure is projected to hit $20 billion this year.
More than 600 booths from 400 exhibitors from 11 countries and territories, such as China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Japan, and Korea will be at the expo to allow visitors to explore the market's tremendous potential. The four-day events will attract foreign associations and delegations, including China Textile Machinery Association, Hong Kong Apparel Machinery Association, Korea Textile Centre, and Taiwan Textile Federation.
The famous exhibitors include Bao Lun, Richpeace, Tajima, and ZSK, who will display their latest embroidery machines. Meanwhile, Heinz Walz, Epson, Grafica, and Sulfet will showcase the printing machines. Japanese firms will present their sewing machine brands such as Brother, Hikari, Juki, and Yamato.
In addition, a number of seminars will be hosted within the framework of the expos, featuring top-notch speakers from official departments, foreign affairs agencies, and universities. They will talk about topics like strategies and practical solutions to enhance the textile, garment, and footwear industries.
