Local firms to tap in global investors

Next month’s Viet Nam Business Summit 2018 is a chance for domestic companies to mingle with potential global investors as they gather for the upcoming World Economic Forum event.

The summit is a part of the World Economic Forum ASEAN 2018 (WEF ASEAN 2018) in Ha Noi, being held between September 11 and 13, and is the year’s biggest trade promotion conference.

It will be held on the last day of the forum and give local companies the opportunity to learn from new business models and discuss their detailed plans with potential partners, Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Chairman Vu Tien Loc said at a press conference on Thursday.

The summit has also selected General Director of CitiBank, Natasha Ansell, and General Director of the budget carrier Vietjet Air, Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, to deliver their presentations, Loc said.

Themed “Viet Nam – Reliable business partner: Connection and Creativity”, the summit will focus on Viet Nam’s position and opportunities in the regional and global supply chains and participants can share their experiences and practices in the fields of finance and infrastructure development, and learn from successful companies in the world.

Participants will have the latest report of Viet Nam’s economic conditions in the context of ASEAN being transformed by the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

They will also be updated about investment and business opportunities and conditions in the fields of finance, infrastructure development and private-public partnership.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and WEF Chairman Borge Brende will open the summit with talks to the business community.
