Co.opmart, Co.opXtra supermarkets vow to cut prices of 5,000 Tet products

The Co.opmart, Co.opXtra and Co.op Food networks have pledged to cut the prices of more than 5,000 products by 10-50 per cent for Tet (the Lunar New Year), which falls on February 16 this time.

They will also offer other attractive programmes, including reward points for every purchase and buy-more-get-more discounts.

Under the programme, from now until February 14, Co.opmart and Co.opXtra stores across the country will ensure there is enough supply of nine priced-stabilised commodity groups at listed prices.

They are also committed to reducing prices by 10 per cent to 50 per cent on more than 5,000 products.

They include certain fruits and vegetables, poultry eggs, confectionery, dairy products, cooking oil, fresh pasteurised milk, meat paste, sausages, dried fish, instant coffee, beverage, fruit juices, superfast kettles, rice cookers, cookware, and fashion products.

The retailers, part of Saigon Co.op, will step up the introduction of private label products of outstanding quality under the Co.opmart and SGC brands, including many specially meant for Tet like cookies, jams, raisins, beverages, sausages, lean pork paste, pickled vegetables, and other traditional specialties.

Saigon Co.op will also sell around 100 tonnes of Co.op Organic products during Tet, including rice, fruits and vegetables, and fish which meet USDA (the US Department of Agriculture) and EU organic standards.

In addition to cutting prices on more than 5,000 products Co.opmart Co.opXtra and Co.op Food have also tied up with suppliers for another programme under which they will cut prices of many kinds of fresh foods by the maximum possible rates for seven days starting just before Tet.
