Programme on ranking sustainable businesses in VN in 2017 launched

A programme on benchmarking and ranking the most sustainable companies in Viet Nam in 2017 was launched today.

The annual programme, which is organised in light of Government Notice No 398/TB-VPCP, dated December 15, 2015, on rankings of sustainable businesses, is aimed at honouring pioneering and successful enterprises in sustainable development and encouraging enterprises to focus on sustainable development plans and measures.

The evaluation and ranking are based on the Corporate Sustainability Index, which is built on economic, social and environmental aspects with 151 questions divided into two sections - the first being general criteria and the second delving into specific criteria of sustainable development. The questionnaire has been proven specific, inclusive, scientific and objective.

The content of the questionnaire has been created, reviewed and edited by top-notch specialists from the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, concerned ministries and agencies, in addition to valuable comments and contributions from Vietnamese and international economic experts.

The ceremony to announce the most sustainable companies in the country in 2017 will be held in December this year.

At the first programme in 2016, 100 companies have been named the most sustainable companies in Viet Nam.
