High-quality Vietnamese goods fair opens in HCM City

A trade fair on high-quality Vietnamese products is taking place at the Phu Tho Stadium in HCM City’s District 11.

The annual fair, which is on until May 2, has some 500 booths, including 200 set up by Vietnamese companies designated as producers of high-quality goods.

It also includes a “Green-Nice Market,” where 100 farms, co-operatives and startup firms are showcasing farm produce meeting safe or organic standards. High-quality Vietnamese goods and enterprises adopting international quality standards are also on display at a dedicated area.

In his speech at the fair’s opening ceremony on Thursday, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Pham Dai Duong said the event would bring Vietnamese goods closer to consumers.

He called on local firms to make greater efforts in improving their goods’ quality to meet the needs of customers and then better integrate into the global supply chain.

During the ceremony, the Business Association of High-Quality Vietnamese Goods, the event’s organiser, granted certificates to 50 enterprises for their high-quality goods while honouring 14 other firms for their efforts in bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas.
