Huawei flagship smartphones, smartwatch continue to nab top accolades at MWC 2017
Huawei flagship smartphones and smartwatch are continuing to grab top awards at the Mobile World Congress 2017 (M WC 2017) held recently in Barcelona, Spain with the Huawei P10, Huawei P10 Plus and Huawei Watch 2 receiving an impressive 42 awards to date, Huawei said.
According to the MWC website, more than 2,300 companies across the globe participated in the 2017 exhibition showcasing their latest products and technologies.
Huawei said the awards its products were given reflected the fact that consumer technology and global media titles continue to recognise Huawei products.
The Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 plus have been a Top Pick' by many publications for their striking design and portrait capabilities, Huawei said.
On the wearable side, media are thrilled with the Huawei Watch 2's strong battery life and robust fitness features.
The awards include Best of MWC 2017: Best Smartphone award given to Huawei P10 by Android Authority. Digital Trends recognised the Huawei P10 with the award for Best Phoneat MWC, while Android Central awarded the Huawei P10 as a 2017 MWC Top Pick.
Recombu named the Huawei P10 Plus a Best of MWC 2017 award winner, while Android Central also awarded the Huawei P10 Plus with the same Top Pick recognition among other awards.
The P10 and P10+ build on the advanced camera technology of the previous edition. Once again, they feature dual rear cameras co-engineered with Leica. For the first time, their front cameras also offer near-professional quality, thanks to incorporating a Leica lens, according to Huawei.
The power lies as much in the software, with a Portrait mode that includes 3D facial detection technology and professional studio-like effects, such as re-lighting and a Hybrid Zoom feature that allows one to focus on specific areas of an image.
The physical design of the phone reveals an ever-evolving metal craftsmanship, as the company calls it. Rounded curves, a hyper diamond-cut finish and a fresh suite of colour options set it apart. Huawei collaborated with the Pantone Colour Institute, the global colour specialists, to introduce new colours not seen before on phones.
The Huawei Watch 2 has also been awarded with a number of prizes including Best Wearable at MWC awarded by Digital Trends. Pocket-lint recognised the Huawei Watch 2 with the Best of MWC 2017 award, while Expert Reviews recognised for the Best Wearable award among other awards.
