Doosan Vina earns $1.21 billion from exports

Doosan Heavy Industries Viet Nam (Doosan Vina) earned US$1.21 billion from the export of 349,584 tonnes of made-in-Viet Nam equipment to 28 countries and territories worldwide, so far.

Chief executive officer and general director Yeon In Jung said just last year, the company exported some 22,000 tonnes with turnover of $200 million.

Doosan Vina is the mega infrastructure producer of hi-tech boilers for electricity plants, contributing 4,200MW to the national power grid and 11,180MW to the world network. It also provides 65 giant crane systems and sea water disposal systems of one billion litres clean water to people in the Middle East region.

At the beginning of 2016, Doosan Vina signed two contracts supplying 20 cranes and exporting 1,232 tonnes of chemical disposal equipment to Peru in May. It successfully exported eight cranes to Saudi Arabia in December. The cargo was delivered one month ahead of schedule.

In addition, Doosan Vina is equipment producer to thermoelectricity projects in Viet Nam. The company signed an agreement to supply equipment for the expansion project of the Vĩnh Tân 4 thermoelectricity plant with total capacity of 600MW in southern Binh Thuan Province in July. It also provided the first cargo of equipment to the Song Hau 1 thermoelectricity plant in southern Hau Giang Province.

Doosan Vina has also implemented a sharing mechanism on production management system, safety, healthcare and environment protection, as well as collecting material and documents with Vietnamese firms.

Last year, Doosan Vina achieved significant results with 16 awards for corporate social responsibility (CSR), labour safety and environment. The prime minister awarded the company for its contribution to central Quang Ngai Province’s socio-economic development and the 6th CSR prize for South Korean companies.
