Asia brewers CEO conference discusses quality, strategic issues

The Lao Brewery Company (LBC) was selected as the host of the 2016 Asia CEO conference of the Carlsberg Group, where company representatives gathered to discuss quality and strategic issues, as well as mapping out the 2017 business and action plans.

The meeting took place at the LBC headquarters office from December 6-7, with Carlsberg representatives also joining the launching event of the Tuborg beer night in Vientiane.

The participants to the meeting were welcomed by LBC Board Chairman, Mr Kissana Vongsay, LBC President, Mr Sounthone Phommachak and Managing Director, Mr Henrik Juel Andersen.

During the two-day meeting among the board members and Asia CEOs, the participants also shared their 2016 busine ss operations of the Asia group, individual market management (country reports), discussed quality and strategic issues and mapped out the 2017 business and action plans.

The 40th LBC Board of Directors' Meeting was also on the schedule, for the purpose of evaluating the 2016 business operations and forecasts for the 2017 Business Plan.

At the meeting, the top management of Carlsberg Asia had a good opportunity to inspect the beer market in Laos and especially the officials of Carlsberg Asia, who joined and supported the Tuborg launching party, unveiling the newest international beer brand product, which is being produced at LBC's Vientiane factory.

The top management of Carlsberg Asia joined as honoured guests at the event on December 7 at the Dome at Vientiane World Trade Centre.

In 2016, the Lao Brewery Company was chosen as and hosted many meetings for Carlsberg Asia Group, such as the CFO's Conference held here in May and also this CEO's meeting in December.

According to the LBC President, Mr Sounthone Phommachak, the Lao government holds 29 percent of shares, 20 percent are held by Lao private investors while the foreign company holds 51 percent of shares in the Lao Brewery Company.
