Green Residence to expand concept after achieving success

The owner of the Green Residence project plans to invest more than US$5 million to construct 35 houses in the same area of Thongpong village, Sikhottabong district in Vientiane after the project's first phase received a good reception from customers.

About 70 percent of the project's first phase or 69 houses are currently booked by customers after the project opened for sale 11 months ago, Green Residence Director, Ms Dalounny Southammavong told local media last week.

The first phase spent over US$10 million on the construction of the zone, which also inc ludes a shopping complex, sports complex, entertainment zone, offices for rent and an industry zone, she said.

The Green Residence with sports complex in Vientiane features single houses, twin houses, town houses and commercial buildings.

People who want to buy can choose different prices ranging from US$69,000 to US$200,000 depending on the style of house.

They can also pay off their houses over 20 to 25 years with a down payment of only 20 percent through the banks, said Ms Dalounny.

The project area covers about four hectares and 50 percent will be green areas.

The investors are also planning a similar project in Phakhao village, Xaythany district as well as another in Vangxai village, Xaysettha district.

Both projects are under feasibility study and expected to commence construction by the end of next year..

Ms Dalounny said she decided do this business as she saw the potential of the country and that many people would like to own a green home one day.

Her ideas and concept for the design came after travelling to many different destinations and witnessing housing styles abroad.

Some people have money to buy land but not enough to build a house, Ms Dalounny explained, so this project provides them with both and they can also pay it off after making a down payment.

The project also provides a two year guarantee for the facilities included, including water and electricity.

Every business operation has competition so they need to offer better services for customers and different styles to meet market demand, Ms Dalounny said.

The Green Residence focuses on every type of customer and the price and payment systems are structured accordingly.
