Group Lease sees spike in Cambodian income

Thai financing firm Group Lease Plc posted a record-high 222.17 million baht ($6.3 million) net profit from its operations in the first quarter of the year, a 101.5 per cent increase from the same period a year earlier, driven by improvements in its Thai operations and a sharp increase in income from its subsidiary in Cambodia, the company said in a filing to the Thai stock exchange.

Consolidated hire-purchase interest income for the period amounted to 484.70 million baht ($14 million), of which 80.77 million baht ($2.2 million) came from its Cambodian subsidiary.
