Trade mission promotes Lao-Korean business

Trade mission events organised by the Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) in Vientiane are promoting trading, investment and cooperation b etween Lao and Korean businesses.

The number of Lao companies that have signed trade contracts with Korean companies has increased since these events took place.

The first trade mission of 2016 was held in Vientiane yesterday. KOTRA invited 10 Korean companies with high quality products - including massage machines, LED lighting, power switches, hair dryers, face cleaning brushes, concrete forms, Eco-hi balls, steam cookers, CCTV cameras, leather wax, and shoe polish - to present their products and business cooperation opportunities to Lao business operators.

The agency organises similar events about four or five times a year and always receives good feedback.

The most popular Korean products in Laos are cosmetics, medicines, food and electronic equipment.

KOTRA will support Lao company booths displaying Lao products at an exhibition in Korea, and arrange a study tour and an information exchange on business operations.

KOTRA Vientiane is the commercial section of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Laos. It supports overseas expansion and substantial trade for both Korean and Lao companies.

KOTRA is also a Korean business centre, where Korean firms consult on investment and business opportunities in Laos.

The agency serves to boost investment and trade cooperation between Laos and the Republic of Korea. It also enhances relations between the two nations.

Trading and investment between Laos and Korea is expanding as both countries boost co operation between their governments and private sectors.
