First Viet Nam – Russia industrial expo opens in Ha Noi

The industrial exhibition EXPO Russia – Viet Nam 2015, organised by Russian-based Zarubezh-Expo, took place in Ha Noi this morning.

Zarubezh-Expo Chairman David Vartanov said the expo, featuring approximately 40 enterprises from Russia, would showcase modern technology in various fields, including energy, mechanical engineering, transport infrastructure, telecommunications, communications, mining, chemistry, medicine and agriculture.

Attending the event, vice chairman of the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Hoang Quang Phong said the expo would provide opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises to access the Russian market.

The expo would create a favorable environment for the two side's businesses to seek business partners as well as expand collaboration in research and technological transfer, Phong said.

The EXPO Russia – Viet Nam took place following the end of The Viet Nam – Russia Business Forum, also organised by Russia-based Zarubezh-Expo this morning.

The forum focused its discussions on economic co-operation within the framework of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Viet Nam and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Nguyen Tuan Hai, Deputy Director of the VCCI International Relations Department, said the forum was a good chance for businesses to seek investment and partnership opportunities.

Attending Vietnamese firms would be updated on the basic principles of the Viet Nam – EAEU FTA, he added.

Viet Nam signed a FTA with the EAEU, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan last May.
