BIDV opens Taipei office

The Bank for Investment and Development of Viet Nam (BIDV) opened a representative office in Taipei yesterday.

Taipei is reportedly an important place for major partners of BIDV, and the office will help the bank collect economic information, connect businesses and develop the market here.

According to Dau tu (Vietnam Investment Review) online, the bank currently serves some 200 enterprises that deal with more than 20 Taiwanese financial institutions.

The office will also provide Taiwanese investors with information about the Vietnamese market in the context of accelerating global integration via the Trans-Pacific Partnership, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, and the Viet Nam – European Union Free Trade Agreement.

It will help foster bilateral co-operation in areas such as transportation, real estate, infrastructure, agriculture, banking and finance, garments and textiles, footwear and electronics.
