AEC boosts business expansion for Thai transformers

A Thai transformer manufacture has expressed confidence that the establishment of the Asean Economic Community (AEC) will play a greater role to boost its business in Laos.

The Ekarat Engineering Public Company Limited yesterday organised a seminar on the Ekarat Transformer to provide more understanding and knowledge of the quality and efficiency of the transformer.

T he company, a manufacturer of distribution transformers and solar panels, was established in 1981 and has been listed on the Thai stock exchange since 2006, Managin g Director Mr Danucha Noichaiboon said at the seminar.

Ekarat has been on Laos' market for more than 25 years and the market has grown and expanded, he said.

Moreover, after the AEC is inaugurated it will offer more opportunities in various markets, so the compa ny is aware of the importance of a long term relationship with Laos and future AEC markets, said Mr Danuchai.

Different hydropower projects and many buildings in Laos are using transformers from the company after gaining confidence about the quality of the products.

As a potential natural resource, Laos is constructing more hydropower plants for electricity energy development and sale to neighbouring countries

The projects will create opportunities for the company to further expand its business in Laos.

Ekarat has also expanded its business to more than 20 countries around the world including some Asean countries.

The ceremony was attended by officials from different government sectors and representatives from the private sector.
