VN shares continue to rally this morning

Vietnamese shares rose slightly this morning as the financial sector with banks, brokers and insurers pushed the market higher.

 

The benchmark VN Index on the HCM Stock Exchange gained 0.7 per cent to close at 591.88 points.

The HNX Index on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange was up 0.8 per cent to close at 81.36 points.

There were 181 gainers, 141 losers and 138 stocks that remained flat on the two local exchanges.

Insurance firms, banks and brokerage companies took the lead this morning, gaining 4.3 per cent, 1.7 per cent and one per cent, respectively.

Among them, Bao Viet Holdings (BVH) was the strongest gainer with an increase of 5.3 per cent.

Other stocks such as Vietcombank (VCB) was up 1.7 per cent, the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BID) gained 1.2 per cent and Saigon Securities Incorporate (SSI) rose 1.7 per cent.

FLC Group (FLC) was the most active code this morning, with more than five million of its shares being traded. FLC was up 1.4 per cent after the company announced a profit of VND300 billion ($13.3 million) in the third quarter of this year last Friday.

The stock market ended this morning with high market liquidity, with 101 million shares being traded on the two exchanges, worth VND1.72 trillion (US$76.6 million).
