Ministry assigns representative of State stake at Sabeco
The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT) on September 28 assigned Vo Thanh Ha, former chief of the ministry office, as a representative of state-owned capital at the Saigon Beer Alcohol Beverage JSC (Sabeco).
Ha, born in 1974, will represent 23 per cent of the State ownership at Sabeco, the company in which nearly 90 per cent is owned by the state. The remaining state stake is represented by General Director Pham Thi Hong Hanh, Deputy Director Le Hong Xanh, and board member Bui Ngoc Hanh.
Ha, the former secretary of Minister Vu Huy Hoang, will replace Phan Dang Tuan, who retired last month.
Ha is the second youngest state officer to hold an important position at Sabeco. Earlier, in February 2015, the ministry also appointed Vu Quang Hai, 29, to be the Deputy CEO and a board member at Sabeco.
Sabeco, the state-owned brewer, has led the beverage market with 1.4 billion liters of beer and 35 million liters of beverage sold in 2014. The company is currently undergoing equitisation, as demanded by the Government. In May, the ministry submitted a plan to the Prime Minister to reduce the State's stake to below 36 per cent.
