Panasonic Risupia Vietnam celebrates five years accompanying young generation

Panasonic Vietnam today celebrated five-year anniversary of Panasonic Risupia Vietnam – the Hanoi-based science centre founded by Japan tech giant Panasonic Corporation in response to suggestion of former Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan.

Committed to support the young generation of Vietnam, Risupia Vietnam is a play-and-learn place for children and anyone who love science.

It is unique for the utilisation and combination between Panasonic’s advanced technologies and fundamental math and physic principles to convey into a wonderful world of science with fun games such as Lighting Canvas, Prime Number Air Hockey, Water Flight and Magical Performance Theater.

After five year operation, the Centre welcomed nearly 250,000 visitors including 180,000 students and organised over 300 workshops for nearly 11,000 children every weekend.

“By establishing Risupia Vietnam, the second and only centre after Risupia Tokyo, Panasonic expresses strong commitment towards the Vietnamese government on its corporate social responsibility,” said Masahiro Yamamoto, director of Panasonic Vietnam.

In today’s ceremony, Panasonic reported its five-year CSR activities to representatives from diverse government bodies such as the Ministry of Education and Training, Ministry of Labour, War Invalid and Social Affair and other organisations as UNESCO and the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam.

Within the agenda, Panasonic Vietnam and the National Fund for Vietnamese Children belonging to the Ministry of Labour, War invalid and Social Affair signed a new donation agreement for the year 2015 with total value of VND600 million ($27,500). Approximately 11,000 children in 44 schools and social facilities will be beneficial from the donation.

Last year, Panasonic donated the National Fund for Vietnamese Children 1000 washing machines to benefit approximately 10,000 children in over 400 schools, social institutes and clinic in the whole country.
