The 6th Vietnam-Japan Supporting Industries Exhibition to open in Hanoi

Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE) in collaboration with the Trade Promotion Organization of Japan (JETRO) wil host the 6th Vietnam - Japan Supporting Industries Exhibition during September 10-12, at the International Exhibition Centre in Hanoi.

The exhibition will attract approximately 100 Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises operating mainly in the processing and manufacturing industries.

Showcasing 101 booths, 57 by Japanese and 44 by Vietnamese enterprises, the exhibition aims to create a supply-demand network helping enterprises to connect, showcase their products and find cooperation opportunities.

The Vietnamese exhibitors will display their products, including electronic components, accessories for the industrial, machinery and electronics sectors, in order to lure in Japanese firms looking for suitable local suppliers.

Chief representative of JETRO Atsusuke Kawade said that “70 per cent of Japanese enterprises in Vietnam have plans to expand their business operations. I expect that the annual exhibition will be a bridge between Japanese enterprises looking for Vietnamese components and parts suppliers and Vietnamese firms who want to expand in just that direction.

VIETRADE director general Bui Huy Son stated that the previous successes of the annual trade exhibition had contributed to raising the total trade turnover between Vietnam and Japan in recent years as well as boosted the number of investment projects from Japan in the processing and manufacturing industries. The 6th Vietnam - Japan Supporting Industries Exhibition with the new context of deeper and more comprehensive integration will bring substantial benefits for the two countries’ enterprises.

The annual exhibition runs under the framework of the Japan-Vietnam Economic Partnership Agreement which became valid in October 2009.
