The SIMA Asean Thailand 2015 or the Southeast Asian Agri-Business Show will be held in Bangkok, Thailand from September 17-19, providing a good opportunity for Asean agricultural producers to open further to the global market.
The event will be a large bridge for Laos, which is one of the Asean countries to ease cooperation on agricultural trading with the international business sector, according to speakers at the SIMA AseanThailand 2015 executive VIP dinner talk in Vientiane on Wednesday.
The dinner talk was hosted by IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd, and attended by representatives from the Vientiane Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the agricultural processing sector and agricultural entrepreneurs in Laos.
The aim of the talk was to present the highlights of SIMA AseanThailand 2015, including the objectives, purpose, the place, organisers, sponsors and partners as well as the achievements of similar exhibitions in different countries around the world.
SIMA AseanThailand 2015 will be organised by IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd in cooperation with the France Comxposium at the Impact Exhibition Centre, Impact Muang Thong Thani.
The objective of the event is to seek and predict the future of industrial agriculture development in Thailand, neighbouring countries and the Asean region as it moves towards AEC integration and creating readiness for the entry of business operators from the fellow Asean countries.
The event will see close cooperation between governments and the business sector in order to find solutions to the challenges facing the agricultural industry, including presenting new technologies, equipment and machines.
The organisers have prepared 10,000 square metres for the goods exhibition, which is set to feature leading and famous brands from around the world, including firms from countries such as Japan, China, Korea, India, France, Germany and Italy.
The event will also open opportunities to the Asean region for discussions on the partnership between entrepreneurs, agricultural groups and the agricultural industry to strengthen business competition and open to the world market.
SIMA AseanThailand will present a complete range of products that suit the region's needs such as inputs, tractors, soil working equipment, plant treatment, harvesting, irrigation, storage, breeding equipment, sp are parts, new technologies and first food process equipment.
The show will also present the latest innovations in relation to regional crops, and conferences in order to ass ist Asean farmers and breeders in their development. Organisers expect around 15,000 trade visitors to join the event.
Most of the Lao population still makes a living primarily from agriculture but only a few farmers are engaged in commercial production utilising the latest machinery, Minister Counsellor of the Office Commercial Affairs of Thaila nd, Ms Pimol Pongkongkaew told Vientiane Times .
She believed that the event shall prove useful for Lao farmers in embracing modern agriculture by using new technologies and equipment to reduce labour use and improve productivity.
“We will together promote Asean to become a food supplier to the world as we are still comprised of largely agricultural areas and rich in natural resources,” Ms Pimol commented.
