Taiwan fourth largest foreign investor in Viet Nam

Taiwan invested in 14 projects and boost registered capital in five existing projects in Viet Nam to a total of $47 million during the first quarter of this year.

This was revealed by the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

The figure has raised the total number of projects invested by Taiwan in Viet Nam to 2,401, with a total registered capital of around $28.5 billion, which account for 13 and 11 per cent of the total number of FDI projects and their registered capital in Viet Nam, respectively.

Taking these figures into consideration, Taiwan was ranked fourth among the total number of countries and territories investing in Viet Nam, the ministry announced on Monday.

The Taiwanese projects are focused on the processing and manufacturing industries, real- estate businesses and construction.

The central province of Ha Tinh emerged as the foremost in Viet Nam in terms of attractive FDI from Taiwan with its 36 projects worth $10.2 billion.
