Quang Ninh welcomes three million tourists in Q1

The northern province of Quang Ninh welcomed nearly three million tourists in the first quarter of 2015, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism reported.

The figure represents a 2 per cent annual increase and amounts to 40 percent of the year's target.

Of the tourists, 791,600 were international arrivals, about one percent more than the same period last year.

The industry earned VND1.63 trillion (US$74.9 million) in the first three months, up 15 per cent compared with last year.

Quang Ninh is now preparing for a new tourism season with a wide range of activities, including the 2015 Ha Long Carnival Festival. The province is also doing its utmost to improve its service quality, diversify its products, ensure visitors' safety and keep prices stable.
