Markets slump on low liquidity

Both bourses ended lower this morning, after posting an increase yesterday.

 

On the HCM Stock Exchange, the VN-Index slightly decreased by 0.18 per cent to finish at 547.12 points. In addition, the VN30, tracking the top 30 shares by market value and liquidity, decreased by 0.22 per cent to stand at 576.40 points.

HAI Agrochem JSC (HAI) surpassed FLC Group (FLC) to become the most active code, with more than 3.2 million of its shares being traded. Its share price gained 1.8 per cent to stand at VND11,300 each.

The market volume fell slightly in comparison with Tuesday morning, with more than 34.5 million shares being traded. The market trading value was VND575 billion (US$27.4 million) by the end of the morning.

The HNX-Index on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange edged down 0.28 per cent to close at 82.09 points, with a low trading value of VND211.4 billion ($10 million).

The advancing codes were nearly equal to the number of losers at 73 to 79, while 216 remained flat.

Four codes traded more than one million shares, including FIT Investment JSC (FIT) with nearly 2.3 million of its shares being exchanged. Its share price decreased 1.18 per cent to touch VND16,700.
