JDB celebrates 25 years growth
The Joint Development Bank (JDB) recently celebrated its 25th anniversary of growth and expansion at Don Chan Palace hotel.
According to JDB, it became the first private bank and is the first bank offered Automated Teller Machine (ATM) service in Laos. JDB wished to acknowledge the Party and government's policies which have opened cooperation with other countries allowing greater socio-economic development.
JDB currently provides its customers with several kinds of financial services for business and has worked on improving its service so that it is accepted both at home and overseas as a facility that is reliable, convenient and trustworthy.
For more than two decades JDB has been providing its customers with the most modern technology systems, matching international standards, especially focusing on customers' principle demands to build benefit for both the customers and bank and allow them to grow together which aligning with millennium developing goals of the Lao PDR.
The Joint Development Bank's 25th anniversary celebration was attended by a number of high profile officials; these include the Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong, Vientiane Mayor Dr Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune, Deputy Governor of the Bank of the Lao PDR, Mr Sonexay Sithphaxay, representatives from each related ministry and many of its customers.
During the celebrations, those attending were shown a film detailing the history of the bank and each period of extra growth and expansion.
Director of the Joint Development Bank Mr Sounthorn Chanthavong reported on the bank's activities, tax payments and fee structure as well as social responsibilities by providing aid and assistance to various sectors along with its greatest services to all customers. Mr Sonexay Sithphaxay expressed his opinion that JDB should continue its human resources development and build new products to serve society under the government's policy.
The Chairman of JDB management board Mr Ekkaphan Phaphithak acknowledged the value of the government's supports and advices when the bank launched its business and thanked their customers for their loyalty and trust over 25 years.
The bank will continue developing its financial services to offer more facilities to customers.
During the celebrations JDB, combined with a number of donations from other companies, presented a cheque for 310 million kip to Vientiane Mayor, Dr Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune to contribute and support the victims in Hadxaifong district, Vientiane, who were badly affected by storms during January of this year.
The bank also offered a lucky draw for a variety of prizes for its customers.
