VietJet Air seals strategic alliance with Lotteria Vietnam

Vietnamese budget carrier VietJet Air and South Korean fast food giant Lotteria Vietnam are hoping to bring more added value to customers of both parties, following a major strategic agreement the companies signed Friday.

The alliance will see the carrier supply its products and services through the fast food chain’s online channel, and vice versa, VietJet Air said in a press release the same day.

The airline will also add Lotteria Vietnam products to its in-flight menu, which now includes nine dishes, for both domestic and international routes, whereas the South Korean company will introduce VietJet’s services through all of its global touch-points.

The no-frills carrier has emblazoned an aircraft with Lotteria Vietnam’s logo to celebrate the new strategic partnership. The logo is red and yellow, syncing with the airline’s own colors, which VietJet said “aim to reflect a spirit of youth and enthusiasm.”

“We are delighted to diversify our in-flight menu with Lotteria Vietnam’s products that will offer our valued passengers even more variety for delicious in-flight meals,” said Luu Duc Khanh, managing director with VietJet.

Khanh said the strategic partnership with Lotteria Vietnam will contribute to “helping us to add more value to our services and raise our standards to the highest quality.”

Kang Hyung Hee, managing director with Lotteria Vietnam, also expressed his pleasure over the partnership.

“We are proud to be the first ever fast food brand to be featured on an aircraft in Vietnam,” he said, adding the company is also the very first fast food supplier to VietJet.

“This agreement has further strengthened the bilateral relation of culture and cuisine between Vietnam and South Korea,” he remarked.

VietJet is slated to launch a new route connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Seoul this summer, besides its existing Hanoi-Seoul service.

Lotteria is one of the fast-food restaurant chains belonging to Lotte Group, which is among the top five largest groups in South Korea.

Lotteria Vietnam was established in 1998, and has since become one of the leading companies in the country’s fast-food industry with more than 190 restaurants in 30 cities and provinces countrywide.
