Stocks continue to fall in morning trading

Stocks fell on both bourses during this morning's trading session.

 

On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index declined by 0.28 per cent to stand at 590.94 points. The southern bourse's trading volume and turnover were halved to reach 42.1 million shares and VND676 billion ($32 million) respectively.

However, the VN30 Index, tracking the performance of the 30 largest stocks on the southern market, rose 0.06 per cent to stand at 618.77 points. The stock group had a balanced performance, with 12 gainers, 11 losers and seven remaining unchanged.

Among the VN30 codes, the price of the Ocean Group Joint Stock Company (OGC) stock fell the maximum to touch VND5,400 per share, with the exchange of nearly four million of its shares, worth VND21.3 billion ($1 million).

The FLC Group Joint Stock Company stock slightly rose to close at VND11,100 per share. It also had the largest trading volume of 6.1 million shares, worth nearly VND68 billion ($3.2 million).

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index closed the morning session at 85.49 points, a decrease of 0.33 per cent.

The trading value reached more than VND216.8 billion ($10.3 million), as investors exchanged 18 million shares.

The top 30 stocks on the northern bourse also sent the HNX30 Index down 0.39 per cent to finish at 165.04 points.
