Markets continue rally in morning trading

National stocks registered slight increases on both exchanges during this morning's trading session.

On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the benchmark VN-Index advanced 0.3 per cent to stand at 598.74 points, on a total turnover of VND1,02 trillion ($48.5 million).

Blue chips were really active, assisting the VN30 Index to rise 0.53 per cent to stand at 620.49 points. The index, tracking the performance of the 30 largest stocks, saw 16 codes make gains, including the Ocean Group Company (OGC) that reached the ceiling price for the second morning session.

Meanwhile, ten codes tumbled, including Refrigeration Electrical Engineering (REE) that declined the most, and six stocks ended unchanged.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index closed at 86.44 points, rising slightly by 0.05 per cent.

The trading value reached more than VND392.6 billion ($18.6 million), as investors exchanged nearly 34.2 million shares.

The top 30 stocks on the northern bourse sent the HNX30 Index down 0.2 per cent to finish at 166.68 points.
