Nippon Paint opens third plant in Viet Nam
Nippon Paint Viet Nam marked the opening of its third plant in the country with a grand ceremony in this province on October 14.
The plant, situated on a 60,000sq.m site, has a registered investment capital of $14 million for the next five years and an annual production capacity of 15,000 tonnes. Up to 500 new jobs will be created, providing a huge boost to the company and the Vietnamese economy.
"With automobile and motorcycle manufacturing developing strongly in recent years, especially in Ha Noi and Vinh Phuc, we are seeing increased opportunities to meet the needs of customers," said Fujita Tetsuro, chief operations officer of NIPSEA Management Company.
"The opening of the Vinh Phuc plant is a major milestone in the history of Nippon Paint in Viet Nam and also an important part of its regional expansion strategy, demonstrating our commitment to strengthen storage capacity to better meet customer demand."
Nippon Paint Vinh Phuc (NPVP) plans to support the needs of the domestic automobile and motorcycle manufacturing industry and enlarge production to encompass coil coating, general industrial-use coating, heavy-duty coating and other coating fields.
NPVP has already obtained several additional properties for the next phase of factory enlargement, focusing on producing electrophoretic deposition paints, water-resistant and architectural paints and resin production, to strengthen the Nippon Paint brand in Viet Nam.
"We hope that with the support of Nippon Paint Vietnam Hanoi (NPVH), which was established in 2005, NPVP will set up a more stable supply system for our customers and reduce supply-stop risks," said Kondo Masao, general director of NPVP and NPVH.
"Our presence in Viet Nam began in 1994, with the establishment of our first factory in Dong Nai province called Nippon Paint Viet Nam. In 2005, a second factory, called NPVH was established in northern Hanoi and focused on coatings for automotive use," Masao added.
