Int'l healthcare exhibition opens

A wide range of pharmaceutical and healthcare products and equipment will be on display at Pharmedi 2014 opening today at the Sai Gon Exhibition and Convention Centre in HCM City's District 7.

The 9th international exhibition on supplies for the medical, pharmaceutical, hospital, and rehabilitation sectors has attracted more than 350 companies, including from Argentina, France, Germany, the US, Russia, Italy, Japan, Singapore, India, China, and Viet Nam.

Products on display at over 500 booths are divided into five categories: pharmaceuticals and machinery for manufacturing and packaging; medical devices; chemical and laboratory equipment; beauty-care products and equipment; and high class medical services.

Several seminars, including one each on import and distribution of medical devices and equipment in Viet Nam and national strategy for development of the pharmaceutical industry through 2020, will be held on the sidelines of the expo.

The exhibition, to run until September 26, is organised by the Viet Nam Pharmaceutical Companies Association, the Central Health Communication and Education Centre, Viet Nam Medical Products Import and Export Joint Stock Co, and Adpex Joint-Stock Co.

Being the biggest event in the medical and healthcare field, the annual event has been chosen as a national trade promotion programme for the past six years.
