Dugarco to construct garment factory in Hoa Binh

The construction of the 10th garment factory of the Duc Giang Corporation (Dugarco) will begin tomorrow in the northern Hoa Binh Province's Lac Thuy district.

The VND158-billion (US$7.52-million) garment factory will be constructed by the Lac Thuy Joint Stock Company, a member company of Dugarco.

The new factory is expected to increase Dugarco's production capacity and provide employment to 2,000 workers in the district and neighbouring areas.

Spread over an area of 3.1 hectares, the factory would become operational after four months of construction and would produce 200,000 items including jackets and pants, annually.

Dugarco aims to earn USD$79 million in export turnover in 2014, compared to $65 million in 2013. The firm's two largest export markets are the US and the EU, which account for 42 per cent and 35 per cent respectively of the total export value.

Dugarco was established in 1990 and currently owns nine garment factories, an embroidery factory, a dry cleaning factory and a carton factory.
