VN-Index closes near 630

Stocks continued to climb this morning, but signs of profit-taking activities appeared as the VN-Index rose to nearly 630 points.

 

On the HCM Stock Exchange, the VN-Index added another 3.86 points or 0.62 per cent to close the morning's session at 629.74 points.

Blue chips were again the market momentum. The VN30, tracking the top 30 shares by market value and liquidity, was up 0.89 per cent to end at 667.63 points.

Liquidity was still good, as the trading volume reached nearly 83 million shares worth VND1.645 trillion (US$78 million).

Tan Tao Investment Industry Corporation (ITA) became the most active code this morning with 4.9 million shares being traded at VND8,700 per share.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index rose 0.71 per cent to end at 85.41 points, with the market value reaching more than VND595 billion ($28.2 million).

PetroVietnam Construction Corporation (PVX) continued to lead the market in terms of volume, with 6.3 million shares being traded, gaining 2 per cent to close at VND5,100 per share.

Trading will resume at 1pm.
