Trade fair in Mekong city showcases various goods

Around 150 local firms from 16 cities and provinces are displaying their goods at the 2014 Can Tho Trade Expo which opened in the Mekong city yesterday.

They have been joined by companies from the US, Austria, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Laos and their joint ventures in Viet Nam also display their products at the trade fair which was organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Can Tho City People's Committee.

The goods on show at the fair include machinery and equipment, electronics, vehicles, garments, furniture and handicrafts, processed foods and beverages, and others.

It offers the participants the opportunity to explore the Mekong Delta market, which has a population of 17 million, Le Thi Kim Thu, director of the Can Tho Convention Centre, said.The fair will go on until September 2.
