HCM City dock receives largest ship to date

A 54,000 DWT Northern Genius ship of the Nippon Yusen Kaisha carriers of Japan successfully docked at Sai Gon Premier Container Terminal (SPCT) through the Soai Rap channel on Saturday.

This is the largest ever ship docked at the terminal. After this ship, the SPCT has signed contract to allow five large-d vessels to dock at the terminal.

Using the Soai Rap channel has reduced a travel distance of 20 km from the sea to the port of HCM City. By using the Soai Rap channel, the 54,000 DWT tonne vessel has estimated to save cost by least $500,000 per year.
