City rated 174th most expensive to live

Expatistan.com, a website that provides the cost of living in various cities around the world, has ranked HCM City 174th in the list of the world's most expensive cities.

Except Singapore, the top 10 most expensive cities in the world are located in Europe and the US. According to the website, the cost of living in HCM City is 71 per cent cheaper than in London, the United Kingdom, the city ranked No 1 in the list.

Compared to other cities in the ASEAN region, the cost of living in HCM City is 66 per cent cheaper than in Singapore, which is ranked seventh; 28 per cent cheaper than in Bangkok, Thailand, ranked 132nd; and 20 per cent cheaper than in Jakarta, ranked 149th.
