VietJetAir ever evolving
VietJetAir has grown rapidly and seen off competition to become Vietnam’s leading low cost carrier. One reason for this success is the airline’s constant innovations which show no sign of slowing.
A number of colourful characters from the up-coming film, Planes, have been painted on VietJetAir aircraft in an exciting collaboration with Disney. Planes, which is set to hit Vietnamese screens on September 21, is an entertaining tale of adventure told at a dizzying speed. Its main character is Dusty is not only a country bumpkin, but also afraid of heights; however, he is desperate to overcome his fears and take part in the biggest-ever jet race. With the whole-hearted support of his new found friends, Dusty stretches out his wings to face the biggest challenge of his life. This is truly a story that encourages others to overcome such obstacles with all their hearts.
“It’s amazing to fly with funny images of Planes on the exterior of your window. I have to fly with it so I can take pictures with it and show off on Facebook. Surely that it will make my friends envious,” said Duy Nghia from Haiphong.
Alongside the striking images of Dusty on its planes, VietJetAir will be offering various souvenirs and gifts featuring images of the fun and friendly characters.
“I saw the trailer of Planes and am eagerly waiting for it to hit Vietnamese screens. I want to board a VietJetAir plane and buy a gift like lovely Dusty. I have to get online VietJetAir bookings soon to hunt for a ticket to make my dream come true,” said Hoa Chi, a Hanoi girl.
This isn’t the first time the airline has taken a step away from its standard, patriotic red and yellow base colours. Last year, the airline featured the country’s official logo (a stylized five-petal lotus flower) and slogan, ‘Vietnam - Timeless Charm’, on its jets in a special collaboration with the national tourism board. The airline has also featured the image of its own famously fun and friendly stewards and the two stars Johnny Tri Nguyen and Mai Phuong Thuy.
VietJetAir now operates more than 400 flights per week, with 11 domestic routes and two international routes connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok. The airline has a fleet of brand-new, modern aircraft maintained by the world’s best service providers and a reputation for operating safe flights with top quality service.
In a short space of time, the low-cost carrier has received numerous accolades both locally and internationally. For example, VietJetAir was honoured to be voted Most Friendly Transportation and Best Airline for Promotions in Vietnam by the readers of the Vietnam Economic Times.
VietJetAir strives to go beyond passengers’ expectations for service. For example, on the occasion of Tet, on the first flight of the New Lunar Year, VietJetAir sent its best wishes to passengers and presented them with gifts.
It has also become famous for its exciting mid-flight performances to celebrate holidays and the launch of new flights. Miss Vietnam played the role of a VietJetAir stewardess on one flight, while on another the god of health, luck and happiness delivered lucky money to passengers.
In the last year passengers also witnessed Hawaiian style dancing, a Guinness record-breaking flash-mob a Lady Gaga-lookalike, while a Marilyn Monroe-lookalike performed in Vinh airport to celebrate the launch of a new route.
In addition, the airline’s in-flight magazine One2Fly features insightful travel features and useful information for passengers.
As a pioneer and industry innovator, VietJetAir’s mission is to further develop around the world and offer more and more passengers a chance to enjoy flying; as such, one of the airline’s trademark slogans is “Save more, fly more!”
Besides strict compliance with safety requirements and flight schedules, VietJetAir focuses on constantly improving customer service exemplified by the airline’s highly trained pilots and stewardesses. It has also cooperated with giant global corporations and provides airbus management and training for pilots and engineers.
The airline’s payment system is managed by CyberSource (the US), which is one of the world’s leading suppliers in secured electronic payment services. Furthermore, VietJetAir is a pioneer in Vietnam in that it provides hi-tech services, such as kiosks for self-check in, web check in and mobile apps for booking tickets and checking in by phone.
