Ha Noi shares continue to retreat

Share movements remained unstable this March 19 morning, closing down in Ha Noi while finishing up in HCM City.

The VN-Index on the HCM City Stock Exchange added 0.64 per cent to reach 482.21 points.

Losers, however, outnumbered gainers by 78-66.

Trading value was almost unchanged compared to yesterday morning, totalling VND412 billion (US$19.6 million) on a volume of 24.7 million shares.

The VN30, representing the performance of HCM City's top stocks, advanced 0.12 per cent to 549.36 points thanks to the gains of six major shares. Meanwhile, most of the 30 blue chips tracked by the index tumbled.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index reached 60.97 points, a 0.47 per cent drop from yesterday's close.

The HNX30, tracking the capital city's 30 leading shares in terms of capitalisation and liquidity, also fell 0.36 per cent to 117.47 points.

Market value and volume reached just 81 per cent of yesterday morning's level, standing at VND152.7 billion ($7.2 million) and 19.9 million shares.
