Shares gain with low liquidity

Shares continued to increase during this  March 15 morning's session, but trading value remained low.

On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index closed at 477.27 points, a 0.56 per cent increase. Gainers outnumbered losers by 112-75.

Among the 30 leading shares tracked by the VN30 Index, 15 stocks managed to post gains, while eight others retreated. The index rose 0.54 per cent to 549.11 points.

As over 30.5 million shares changed hands, market value totalled VND504.6 billion (US$24 million). Meanwhile, on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index added 0.2 per cent, reaching 61.93 points. Trading was sluggish, fetching just VND155.5 billion ($7.4 milion) on a volume of 19.7 million shares.

The HNX30, representing the northern bourse's largest stocks in terms of market capitalisation and liquidity, also increased 0.4 per cent, standing at 119.39 points.

Trading will resume at 1pm.
