Peru eyes investment climate, opportunities

Viet Nam could become an attractive investment destination for Peruvian companies who are increasingly investing in foreign countries, Peru's Foreign Trade Association (Comexperu) has said.

Peru's state news agency Andinas quoted a press release by Comexperu as saying that the South American country should seize the opportunity to improve relations with Viet Nam, a member of the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) Forum and the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

In the first five months of this year, Peru exported $50 million worth of goods to Viet Nam, an increase of 79 per cent from the same period last year.
