Hanoi to have 1,500 houses for low income earners at 300-500m dong/unit

Viglacera Corp on July 29 inaugurated nearly 1,000 apartments for low income people and is all set to start work on another 1,500 apartments for low income earners in Dang Xa industrial zone, Gia Lam district, Hanoi.

After 24 months of construction, so far, the first phase of house for low income earners project, including 946 apartments in Dang Xa 1 industrial zone, has been completed. This is the first housing project for low income earners in Gia Lam district being put into operations, providing accommodation for about 4,000 people.

The project also includes kindergarten, sport area, service area (swimming pool, catering services and supermarket), green area and parking area.

With an aim to continue to meet the accommodation needs for specialists, officers and workers in industrial zones and low income earners in the city, on the same day, Viglacera also started work on 1,500 apartments for low income earners in Dang Xa 2 industrial zone. The project with a total investment of 700 billion dong, covering a floor area of 115,000 square metres, is expected to be completed and in operational in the second quarter of 2014, providing the accommodation to about 6,000 people. Apartments of this project have area of 30-50 m2 and price of 300-500 million dong per unit.

Reportedly, Dang Xa-Gia Lam industrial zone covers 68.67 hectares, including two areas, of which, Dang Xa 1 industrial zone (29.65 hectares) has been kicked off construction since July 2003 and so far the technical infrastructure system section has been completed and put into operational for 180,000 m2 of housing floor area. Work on Dang Xa 2 industrial zone (39.02 hectares) has been started since January 2012 and once finished in 2015, it will provide 350,000 m2 of housing floor area for the housing fund.
