Lang Co ready to charm more buyers

There are more foreigners especially from Hong Kong and Singapore rushing to Vietnam with the aim to own a second-home. Nguyen Ngoc Thuyen Project manager of Laguna Lang Co

A giant Lang Co Bay resort project in the central Vietnam is to be recalibrated in step with changing its sales strategy. The launch of about 40 units in the Angsana area belonging to the $835 million Laguna Lang Co resort, developed by Singapore-backed Banyan Tree Group, has been delayed until April 2013.

Nguyen Ngoc Thuyen, project manager of Laguna Lang Co project, said the change would make the project more attractive in customers’ eyes. The new estimated price will not be higher than $290,000 per unit.

“In April 2013, facilities inside the project such the hotel, spa and golf-course will be basically finished,” said Thuyen.

Thuyen said Savills Vietnam was the exclusive sales and marketing agent for the project, which is targeting foreign customers, especially those from Hong Kong and Singapore.

“There are more foreigners especially from Hong Kong and Singapore rushing to Vietnam with the aim to own a second-home in one of international standard tourism area projects in the country. The evidence is some recent successful transactions at The Nam Hai in the central Danang city. We also would like to catch the wave,” said Thuyen.

Framed by a three kilometre beach and lush countryside, the 280 hectare Laguna Lang Co resort is located near Lang Co Bay in Thua Thien-Hue province, overlooking the East Sea.

The project is the region’s finest holiday destination comprising Banyan Tree & Angsana branded hotels and resorts, spas, a championship golf course, resort residences, convention facilities, and an array of recreational offerings. Nestled along the coast of tranquil Central Vietnam, Laguna Lang Co is Banyan Tree’s first foray in the country, and echoes the ethos of Laguna Phuket, the company’s flagship integrated resort community in southern Thailand.

After being completed, the project will be a venue of seven five-star hotels and spas branded by Banyan Tree and Angsana with 2,000 rooms, 1,000 villas, convention, trade centres and an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Sir Nick Faldo. Phase one of the project represents a $200 million investment funded through the Banyan Tree Indochina Hospitality Fund, the first real estate investment fund established by the group in 2008.

At this time, Angsana and Banyan Tree hotels are being constructed and will open this November. Villas for sale in three components of the project - Angsara Residences, Banyan Tree Hill Villas and Laguna Residences Lang Co will be offered in April 2013.
