Stocks rally on both exchanges

Excitement returned to securities trading on Mar. 23 helping stocks rebound on both domestic stock exchanges. On HCM City exchange, the VN-Index bounced 0.61 per cent to close at 467.64 points. Gainers outperformed losers by 115:104.

 

 

 

 

 

Trading on the southern market continued low at 33.6 million shares, worth VND805.6 billion (US$37.5 million).

Among 115 gainers, stocks that hit ceiling prices were APC up 4.7 per cent, Binh Dinh Mineral (BMC) up 4.9 per cent, CLG up 4.5 per cent, DCC up 4.9 per cent and Vien Dong Pharmaceutical (DVD) up 4.7 per cent.

Gains were made in big stocks by software producer FPT Corporation (FPT), up 0.9 per cent; PetroVietnam Finance (PVF), up 2.3 per cent; Ocean Group (OGC), up 2.1 per cent; Sai Gon Securities Inc (SSI), up 3.4 per cent; and Sacombank (STB), up 0.7 per cent.

Meanwhile, insurer Bao Viet Holdings (BVH) fell 0.7 per cent, Masan Group (MSN) fell 2.3 per cent and Vietcombank (VCB) fell 0.3 per cent.

On the Ha Noi market, the HNX-Index gained 1.01 per cent to finish at 94.11 points. There were 138 gainers and 112 losers.

Trading volume slowed to 29 million shares, totalling VND455.8 billion ($21.2 million) in value.
